Cornelia-based company bought by Iowa firm

OSCEOLA, Iowa - Salford Inc, manufacturers of tillage, seeding and fertilizer application equipment has acquired BBI Spreaders, a Cornelia-based manufacturer of precision dry material applicators for the agriculture, construction, and golf industries. <br /> <br /> The two company's equipment lines are complimentary to one another and allow each business to reach new markets. In addition to the larger product offering both companies gain access to new sales territories and will strengthen their network of hundreds of farm equipment dealerships across the United States, Canada and <br /> overseas. Over time their engineering departments will collaborate on new product developments that leverage each businesses unique strengths and manufacturing capabilities. <br /> <br /> BBI will continue to manufacture the industry-leading spreader line from its Cornelia manufacturing facility and Richard Hagler, President of BBI Spreaders, will continue to manage manufacturing operations at the new Salford unit.<br /> <br /> The two companies will join forces publicly for the first time at the upcoming Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Georgia on October 14-16. <br /> <br /> "We are thrilled to join the Salford family," stated Hagler.
