CUMMING - The Forsyth County Board of Elections has decided against Sunday voting in the county this year but will revisit the idea in time for the 2016 election cycle.

County officials say the board acted at a meeting in Cumming Monday.
Sunday voting has already been approved in some Georgia counties, where one Sunday has been set aside between now and the Nov. 4 general election for voting. (See earlier story. Link below.)
The Forsyth County Board of Elections cited a number of reasons for opting not to have Sunday voting this year, including the cost, religious considerations and "the inability to put the effort together, to advertise and get the word out in time for early voting this year."
