GAINESVILLE - Putt for the pets at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia's (HSNEGA) 27th annual Dog Day Afternoon Golf Tournament, to be held Monday, October 20 at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. Registration begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.<br />

"The golf tournament is our longest running fundraiser, and is an event that our supporters look forward to each year," says Julie Edwards, interim executive director of HSNEGA. "The golf tournament is a day where community leaders, Humane Society volunteers and passionate animal lovers can come together to further our mission in northeast Georgia. The proceeds will help provide low-cost pet health care services in the community as well as support the animals in our care until they are adopted."<br />

All players registering for the tournament also will receive a catered lunch at 11 a.m. from Longstreet Cafe, and be treated to a closing reception at the end of play including awards for the top three teams (net and gross).<br />
