OAKWOOD -- Rod English recorded his third consecutive double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Johnson boys to a 75-45 win over Lumpkin County in Region 8-AAAA action.
The Knights (13-3, 2-0 Region 8-AAAA) led just 31-23 after a sluggish and physical 1st half but used a huge fourth quarter to pull away for the lopsided victory. They outscored Lumpkin 15-10 in the 3rd quarter and 27-12 in the final period.
Johnson was paced by Ty Cockfield with 21 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Carter Cagle added 12 points, all in the 2nd half.
Lumpkin (10-8, 1-2 8-AAAA) was led by Evan Bafile with 15 points and Johnny Gilreath with 10 points.
Johnson next will travel to Lanier on Friday in another Region 8-AAAA contest
