Tarr excels for Chowan, named to All-Rookie team

Former Flowery Branch football standout Kevin Tarr has continued his stellar play into the collegiate ranks for Chowan University.

Tarr was recently named to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association's All-Rookie Team.

After graduating from Flowery Branch High School in 2013 where he was a four-year starter, Tarr opted to play at Chowan University in Murfreesboro, N.C.

Tarr started and played all 10 games for the Hawks this season, working with an offensive group that collected 3,994 yards over the course of the campaign. Chowan averaged 399.4 yards per game and 5.8 yards per play, ranking it fourth in the CIAA in those same categories.

Tarr is currently studying Information Systems and plans on graduating with a degree in that field.
