ATLANTA - The state School Superintendent's new Parent Advisory Council includes representatives from Hall, Forsyth, Gwinntett, Barrow,and Rabun counties among its 36 members.
Supt. John Barge announced the appointments Monday.
The group will meet three times this school year with Barge to discuss education issues in Georgia. Their primary focus will be increasing parent and family involvement.
The first meeting is Oct. 21.
The northeast Georgians named to the council and the school systems they represent are: Jennifer D. Ramey (Rabun County), Ayana A. Shepherd (Gwinnett County), Stephanie Smith (Barrow County), Robert Smith (Hall County), Tilwana
Anderson (Gwinnett County), and States Wing (Forsyth County).
