Trojans dominate on night North Hall celebrates Christmas' century (Video)

GAINESVILLE -- Bob Christmas was honored for his 100th victory with North Hall football on Friday night.

Victory No. 101 certainly proved a lot easier -- and with the way the Trojans are playing right now, it would seem plenty more success is on the near horizon for North Hall.

Christmas' team edged Jefferson on Sept. 13 for his century mark with the Trojans but needed relatively few fireworks to handle Dawson County in their first game since the accomplishment, downing the Tigers 51-6 on Friday in Gainesville.

Trojans quarterback Andrew Smith dominated, ripping off four touchdown runs -- all in the first half -- as North Hall sprinted to a 37-0 lead.

It was just part of a dominating night on the ground for the Trojans (4-0, 1-0 Region 7-AAA), pounding their way to an astounding 402 yards rushing, including 97 for Smith. Yet it was Zac Little who did much of the heavy lifting for North Hall, sprinting his way to 199 yards on just 15 carries -- 13.2 yards per rush. Meanwhile, Smith also passed for 50 yards, as the Trojans earned their first region win of the campaign.

Dawson County (3-2, 1-1) found tough going against the North Hall defense, which allowed just 70 yards rushing -- led by Cody Lamar's 42 yards. Tigers quarterback Zack Buchan also threw for 103 yards on 10 of 25 passing.

North Hall moves on to face East Hall next Friday at The Brickyard.

Dawson County, meanwhile, will look to bounce back against Banks County in Dawsonville.

-- NOTE: After the game on Friday Congressman Doug Collins presented coach Christmas and his wife a declaration and a flag that was flown at the Capitol in honor of Coach Christmas' 100th win.
