FLOWERY BRANCH -- Jackson McDonald threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more in leading Flowery Branch to a 38-7 win over Salem Friday night in Region 8-AAAAA action at Falcons Field.
McDonald's effort began after the Seminoles had taken the first lead on a Michael Peck touchdown pass late in the first quarter.
McDonald got the Falcons rolling in the second quarter with 1- and 5-yard TD runs in a 1:55 span. Davante King and Cameron Davis would add two-point conversions to give them a 16-7 lead.
Four minutes later McDonald would connect with Davis on a 34-yard TD pass and King would add another two-point conversion and the Falcons would take a 24-7 lead into halftime.
Jackson added his second TD pass of the game as time expired at the end of the third quarter with a 22-yard TD pass to Jemon Randolph. McDonald would run the two-point conversion.
Davis would finish the scoring with an 8-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter.
McDonald finished 12-of-17 passing for 213 yards for Flowery Branch (3-2, 3-0 Region 8-AAAAA). He added 63 yards rushing and Randolph finished with 46 yards rushing for the Falcons.
Peck was 12-of-29 for 131 yards with one TD and two interceptions for Salem (2-3, 1-2).
