MT. AIRY -- Class AA fourth-ranked Jefferson split a pair of matches Thursday against Class AAAAAA competition.
The Lady Dragons beat North Forsyth 25-20, 25-22 in the opening match but fell to host Habersham Central 25-21, 21-25, 25-19 in the second match.
Jefferson coach Mike Paul was pleased with the effort.
"We played two really good teams tonight and hopefully they will make us tougher at tournament time," he said.
Jefferson is now 26-7 and travels to Wesleyan on Tuesday for an Area 6-AA quad match against Wesleyan, GAC, and Rabun County.
