OAKWOOD - In a move it hopes will bring more jobs and industry to the city, the Oakwood City Council has approved an urban development plan. The city is also seeking to have parts of Oakwood designated as an opportunity zone.
City Manager Stan Brown confirmed Tuesday the opportunity zone designation would allow for a tax credit of $3,500 for every new job created by companies that set up shop in the designated area.
Brown says the opportunity zone is 416 acres in size and consists of 104 parcels of land, scattered across the city.
