Morrow man arrested in Jackson Co. on burglary charge

JEFFERSON - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) has arrested a Morrow, Georgia, man on a burglary charge.

Sheriff Janis Mangum said Tuesday Lenon Azell Kennedy, 23, was arrested Friday after a day-long search.

Mangum said numerous officers from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the Braselton Police Department, the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol Aviation Unit and the Georgia Department of Corrections K-9 Unit assisted with the search.

Several reports of entering autos in Braselton and a sighting of a possible suspect by a witness, led to Kennedy's capture in a wooded area off of Braselton Parkway, according to the sheriff.

"(We) probably stayed on the ground a half a day and did not locate him. Later on about 5 p.m. one of them was spotted on a bicycle and a house had been broken into and a bicycle taken out of a garage," Mangum said.

"They pursued again and at the time he (Kennedy) was apprehended it was only one of them. We feel like one of them (suspect) got a ride," Mangum added.

Investigators were still gathering information on the second suspect Tuesday.

Kennedy is currently in the Jackson County Jail and is charged with one count of burglary, however, several other charges are pending. The sheriff's office also considers Kennedy a suspect in entering auto cases which happened earlier last week.
