North Gwinnett and Mill Creek each moved up one spot in Class AAAAAA, and that was the only movement for the seven area teams present in the latest Georgia Sportswriters Association Prep Football Poll, released Tuesday.
Gainesville and Flowery Branch, in Class AAAAA, Buford and North Hall in Class AAA, and Jefferson, in Class AA, all maintained their spots from a week ago, with the Red Elephants and Wolves holding the top place in their respective classes.
Flowery Branch, meanwhile, is ninth in Class AAAAA, and will face No. 2 Northside, Warner Robins this Friday. In Class AAA, North Hall will open the season at No. 7 and will play host to Chestatee on Friday in a game broadcast live in 102.9 FM WDUN.
Jefferson is fifth in Class AA and will also face a rivalry in its opener, taking on Commerce this Friday.
In Class AAAAAA, the Bulldogs defeated Camden County 34-14 last week to climb to second place, while idle Mill Creek moved up one spot to No. 9.
