CLEVELAND - The White County Board of Commissioners will be holding two open house sessions to present a draft land use plan to the citizens of the county and to receive the input of the public about the plan.
Commission Chairman Travis Turner stressed the document is just a draft and not a finished product. He also outlined their goal of the public meetings, saying, "The goal of these input sessions is, (A) not to cram anything down the citizens' throat, our desire is to - and I think I speak for everyone here - we want to hear pros, cons and indifference of anything we can do better in presenting a plan to the community. We want to do this in a correct manner."
The first meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Mossy Creek United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
A second meeting will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday Aug. 22, at the Sautee-Nacoochee Community Center.
