Two hospitalized in Allatoona boat crash

UNDATED - Two men are in the hospital after they crashed their boat into the shore of Lake Allatoona in Cherokee County Saturday night.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources had to rescue one of the men, who was trapped in the wreckage of the boat. The DNR says the crash happened just after 7:30 Saturday night on a 15-foot bank near Little River Marina.

The DNR said the boat's throttle was found in the "full forward" position, indicating the boat must have been at full power when it hit the bank.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
