Oakwood Captain D's in the works

OAKWOOD - Captain D's is considering opening a restaurant in Oakwood near the new Steak 'n Shake.

Oakwood City Manager Stan Brown confirmed Thursday morning that city officials have met with the representatives of the restaurant chain.

The new restaurant would be located on Thurman Tanner Parkway, across from the Sterak 'n Shake, which opened a few weeks ago.

Brown said he does not know when construction might begin or when the restaurant might open.

It would be the second Captain D's in Hall County. The other is on Pearl Nix Parkway in Gainesville. However, at one time there was also a location on Park Hill Drive near Poor Richard's but that operation closed several years ago.
