GAINESVILLE - Vascular & Vein Specialists at The Longstreet Clinic is pleased to announce that Dev Mangalat, M.D., FACS, recently earned certification through the American Board of Phlebology.

"With so many practitioners with varying degrees of experience in the field, it is vital for those physicians with a superior knowledge and experience base to be certified in order to demonstrate their expertise," said C. Dan Procter, M.D., FACS, partner at Vascular & Vein Specialists who also is certified in phlebology. Procter and Mangalat are both board-certified vascular surgeons with more than 32 years of combined experience.

Certified phlebologists have extensive knowledge of and training in the diagnosis and treatment of vein disorders and have met the standards of the American Board of Phlebology. Successfully completing the certification exam brings recognition to both the field of phlebology and those physicians in the field who have the knowledge, skills and experience to provide quality care to patients with venous problems.

The Clinic's ICAVL-accredited vascular diagnostic testing lab, the first to achieve this status in Northeast Georgia, helps diagnose venous disorders including spider veins, varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency and deep vein thrombosis.

"With these services available in the lab, along with our outpatient Vascular Access Center, we hope to provide significant benefit and convenience patients and their families," Mangalat said.
