Superintendent search process to include focus groups

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville City Schools Board of Education invites the public to participate in the selection of a new superintendent.

Two focus groups will be held to give the Board information on the qualifications and characteristics to be used in the selection process. The focus groups will also be used to identify the practices of the district that stakeholders value in preserving with a new leader.

The sessions will be facilitated by Dr. Richard Krise from Pioneer Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA).

The two sessions are scheduled for:

Wednesday, July 31, at Gainesville Exploration Academy (located at 1145 McEver Road) from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Monday, August 12, at New Holland Core Knowledge Academy (located at 170 Barn Street) from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Supt. Merrianne Dyer announced in February plans to retire June 30, 2014. (See earlier story. Link below.)
