HARTWELL - A Hartwell man has been identified as the victim of a drowning on Lake Hartwell this past weekend. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said yesterday that the body of 54-year-old Dennis Hoyt Baker was recovered Saturday night around 7:45, about 15 minutes after rangers arrived on the scene.
Rangers say Baker was swimming near the old Reed Creek boat ramp when he went under.
