Jonesboro homeowner shoots at burglars, body recovered

JONESBORO (AP) -- Authorities are investigating whether a dead body found outside a house in Jonesboro is a burglary suspect who was shot by a homeowner.

Clayton County Police Sgt. Kevin Hughes says a Jonesboro couple returned home Saturday night and found three men inside their house rummaging through their belongings.

Hughes says the homeowner grabbed his gun and began shooting at the men. Hughes says the suspects fled the house through an open window and police found an unidentified man dead in a neighbor's front yard.
