GAINESVILLE - Cheryl T. McDuffie, practice administrator of The Longstreet Clinic's Center for Women's Health, has been honored by the Georgia Medical Group Management Association with its Distinguished Service Award.

The award represents a current GMGMA member and their significant achievement or expertise to their practice and/or their local GMGMA organization. It was presented last month at the group's annual conference at Lake Lanier Islands.

GMGMA's Elaine Cook said McDuffie "has given countless hours to GMGMA over the last 15 years, from serving as a committee member to President of GMGMA to helping start a local chapter."

McDuffie has served as practice administrator for TLC's Center for Women's Health, one of the clinic's largest departments, for the past seven years. The practice includes 12 physicians, 10 certified nurse midwives, two nurse practitioners and four locations.

"Cherri's calm resolve and strong leadership brought our department together in a time of change and growth," said Jeff Reinhardt, M.D., an OB/GYN and TLC president.

McDuffie is a fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives, the highest distinction in the medical group practice management profession. She is a member of the Medical Group Management Association, as well as the Georgia Medical Group Management Association and Lake Lanier Chapter Medical Group Management Association, where she has held numerous leadership positions. She and her husband, Dale, live in Baldwin. They have two adult sons and two grandsons.
