OAKWOOD - A Johnson High School teacher and coach that faces a misdemeanor charge of public indecency has tendered a letter of resignation, according to a press release from Hall County Schools.

Tony Ray Wilson, 47, of Buford turned himself in Wednesday after being charged with a misdemeanor for public indencency following an incident at the school this past Friday.

Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks said a female teacher told school officials Wilson exposed himself to her while the two were together in a classroom.

School officials contacted law enforcement.

Wilbanks said no students were at school, since Friday was a teacher work day following the final day of classes for the school year.

Wilson's page on the Johnson High School website indicates that in addition to being a health and P.E. teacher, he is also the head baseball coach for the Knights. The page says Wilson taught for 15 years in Stephens County before coming to Johnson five years ago.

Wilson was booked into the Hall County Jail on $1,500 bond.
