BRASELTON - Local business owners, public officials and representatives from the Braselton Community Improvement District (CID) will open their doors in celebration on Saturday, June 1, from 10:00-4:00 to mark the official opening of the Braselton LifePath.

Officials say LifePath will benefit the Braselton area by providing residents a way to access local businesses without having to get in their cars.

It will provide approximately 1.7 miles of 10-foot wide concrete pathways connecting The Village at Deaton Creek and Northeast Georgia Medical Center's River Place (site of a new hospital) to Chateau Elan, Mulberry Walk, Liberty Village and the Town of Braselton Mulberry River Walk. Long range plans include over 11 miles of 10-foot wide, multi-use pathways connecting the Braselton community from Spout Springs to Downtown.

The Braselton Community Improvement District is a public-private partnership created to provide improvements for the purpose of promoting commercial businesses, providing amenities and facilities to area residents and business owners and creating economic development within the district.

The CID believes these efforts coupled with the ongoing efforts of the Town of Braselton will encourage sustainable economic growth and development in Braselton.

The projects were funded by the property owners within the CID in partnership with the Town of Braselton.

The June 1 event will include bounce houses and slides, drawings and prizes and more. There will be a "scavenger hunt" offering participants a chance to identify and visit the businesses in competition with each other. Register for prizes and drawings at the tent in front of Ace Hardware at Liberty Village and travel LifePath via golf cart, segways, biking or just walking.
