FLOWERY BRANCH - An early estimate of the damage caused to city property by flooding in Flowery Branch over the weekend has been put at $1.4 million.
Mayor Mike Miller said Wednesday morning "as of now" that looks like a good estimate.
"However, like any in depth repair, once we get into the culvert repairs and replacement we may run into additional cost so it is by no means a final dollar figure."
Many streets, roads, homes and businesses were damaged by the flooding which followed 7.5 inches of rain in Flowery Branch in a six-hour period Sunday morning.
Mayor Miller added the $1.4 million figure is damage to city property only and does not include damage to private property and other government agencies.
