NGTC welcomes Lorna Chapman as new Executive Assistant

CLARKESVILLE - North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) recently welcomed Ms. Lorna Chapman as the new Executive Assistant to the President.<br />

"We are pleased to have Lorna with us," said President Dr. Gail Thaxton. "Her enthusiasm is contagious and she enjoys a fast-paced, continuously changing environment and working with others to accomplish goals."<br />
<br />
Ms. Chapman comes to NGTC from the Georgia World Congress Center Authority in Atlanta. Her experience there over the past 13 years includes Employee Relations Manager, Benefits Coordinator, Personnel Supervisor, and Recruiter. Administrative support, presentations, event planning, and project management were part of her responsibilities with GWC Center. She has completed project management, conflict management, and HR training programs and holds certification in dispute mediation and resolution. <br />

"Working for the college is a wonderful environment," she said. "I love the energy that the students bring to the daily activities in the office."<br />
<br />
Born in London, England, Chapman spent several years in Toronto, Canada, before moving to Atlanta. She recently moved to the Habersham area after she met and married Clarkesville resident Dwayne Chapman.
