By staff
The North Georgia Christian Lady Chargers soccer team defeated the Horizon Christian Lady Warriors 5-4 in penalty kicks on Tuesday night in Cumming in the semifinal round of the ICSGA state soccer playoffs.

Sarah Rhodes scored the lone goal in regulation for the Lady Chargers, who finished regulation in a 1-1 tie.

After two scoreless overtime periods, the game went to penalty kicks. Jordan Ball, Rachel MacLagan, and Sarah Rhodes all scored for North Georgia in the first phase of penalty kicks, and Sydney Bokelman sealed the win in sudden death with her penalty shot.

Georgia Clark stopped four spot kicks in goal for the Lady Chargers to preserve the win. With the win, Coach Heath Padgett's Lady Chargers advance to the state championship game to be played on Saturday in Conyers.
