LCKC Athletes Compete in National Team Trials

GAINESVILLE - Athletes from the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club (LCKC) will be traveling to Oklahoma City this week to compete in the USA Canoe/Kayak Sprint National Team Trials on April 26-27.

Junior and Senior athletes from all over the U.S will meet on the Oklahoma River to compete for positions on the USA Junior, U23 and Senior team for 2013.

Coach Claudiu Ciur along with 14 athletes from the LCKC will make the trip hoping to secure spots to compete later this year in Welland, Canada and Duisburg, Germany.

Athletes are: Sr. Canoe Men: Robert Finlayson, Ben Hefner and Ian Ross. Sr. Kayak Men: Tim Hornsby, Chris Miller, Stanton Collins and Aaron Mullican. Sr. Kayak Women: Cannie Ash, Macy Dwyer, Alex McLain and Kasi Paul, Jr. Kayak Men: Tommy Wade. Jr. Kayak Women: Karenna Paul and Lydia Skolrood.
