GAINSVILLE - Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests is partnering with the Greening Youth Foundation (GYF) to recruit and hire young people ages 15 to 19 for a summer Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) crew. <br />

YCC provides employment, job skills and educational opportunities through outdoor projects focused on managing natural and cultural resources on the national forest. Applications and resumes will be accepted beginning Monday, April 22 and continuing until May 3.<br />
<br />
YCC is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture - Forest Service, and the U. S. Department of Interior's Fish and Wildlife Service and National Park Service.<br />
<br />
GYF is a non-profit organization based in Atlanta that specializes in engaging diverse populations in green jobs and public land management with a mission to "nurture enthusiastic and responsible environmental stewardship and healthy lifestyle choices among underserved disconnected children, youth and young adults." <br />
<br />
Crew members will work June 3 through August 2 from the Blue Ridge Ranger District office in Blairsville and the Chattooga River Ranger District office in Lakemont.<br />
<br />
The program is open to all 15- through 19-year-olds who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Applicants must be 15 years of age by the program start date and not over 19 years of age by program end.<br />
