GAINESVILLE - Work on converting the old Georgia Mountains Center (GMC) into the Brenau Downtown Center is in full swing.
The GMC arena is unrecognizable as it is converted into a two-story academic facility.
Work on the project began several weeks ago.
A 10-year lease agreement with the city of Gainesville gives Brenau the opportunity to occupy the building renovate it to accommodate the school's growing health sciences graduate programs. (See earlier story. See first link below.)
