"This project reconstructs the roadway and installs the streetscape features of an Enhancement Project. We want you to know all about the work so we are hosting a Community Information Session, Thursday April 18th at 6 p.m. at the Winder Community Center. Please come and find out all about the work in Winder. After the project, the roadway itself will be strong and durable, moving traffic more efficiently through Downtown. Broad Street will also be more pedestrian friendly and an attractive place to spend your time, drawing more people Downtown," explained Bayne Smith, Georgia DOT District Engineer.

This 0.72 mile long project awarded to G.P.'s Enterprises of Statham for $4,949,306.21 with a completion date of July 31, 2014. The project will rebuild SR 11/Broad Street from the ground up. Enhancement work includes new sidewalks, curb and gutter, benches, lighting and landscaping.

Georgia DOT will be sending out updates throughout the project. If you would like to receive those updates via email please email
