Isolated storms could bring hail, tornadoes to Ga.

By The Associated Press
PEACHTREE CITY (AP) -- Forecasters say isolated storms are expected across much of Georgia late Thursday into Friday morning.

The National Weather Service projects that the main threats from the storms will be damaging wind, large hail, heavy rain and lightning.

Some tornadoes will also be possible.

Forecasters say a strong upper-level system and associated cold front is expected to approach Georgia on Thursday and then push across the state Thursday night and Friday morning.

The weather service says rainfall amounts could be heavy, especially across parts of north and west-central Georgia, where 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall.
