Baseball: Gettys throws no-hitter in win over Clarke Central

ATHENS -- ay.Gainesville continued to get solid pitching Wednesday

Jonathan Gettys tossed a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts to lead the Red Elephants to an 8-1 win over Clarke Central in Region 8-AAAAA action.

Michael Gettys, Hunter Anglin, and Brandon Sewell each had three hits for Gainesville (14-2, 6-1 Region 8-AAAAA). Caleb Whitenton finished with two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored for the Elephants.

Gainesville next will play host to Clarke Central at Ivey-Watson Field on Friday.
