GAINESVILLE - The Lanier Striped Bass Coalition (LSBC) will sponsor a Striper Round-up Saturday, April 27.
It will be a catch-and-release fish scale and data collection tournament intended to provide the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) with additional information it has requested to assist with the management and improvement of the Lake Lanier Striped Bass Fishery.
All revenue generated by the tournament will go to offset the cost of the tournament, with any excess being rolled into the LSBC Conservation Fund to purchase equipment for the DNR/WRD striper hatchery program.
The one-day event will begin at 6:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
A "virtual" weigh-in will be held at Little Hall Park (Highway 53 and Little Hall Road).
General registration is $25.00 per boat, and includes LSBC memberships for Team/Boat Captain.
Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.First place will be for the boat that catches, collects and releases the highest total number of individual striped bass (regardless of size). Second place will be for the boat that catches the longest striped bass and Third place will be for the boat that catches the
shortest striped bass.
