CUMMING - The Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce announces that Bright Light Systems, Inc. has selected Forsyth County as the home of its new headquarters.
The company was founded in 2010 to develop a prototype of an energy efficient LED fixture for the Space Shuttle Program.
"Bright Light Systems helps its customer reduce energy consumption by up to 85 percent," stated Brad Lurie, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Bright Light Systems. "We are uniquely positioned as a first mover in a high growth industry."
According to Lurie the company thrives by combining both hardware and software solutions that reduce energy and maintenance costs while improving the environmental impact of light pollution and providing employees with a safer work environment.
The company's new headquarters is located along the McFarland Parkway corridor in Forsyth County. It expects to exceed $100 million in revenue in the next five to seven years, while generating up to 50 new jobs.
"The advanced technology developed by Bright Light Systems is exactly the kind of innovation that Georgia cultivates," said Chris Cummiskey, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. "Access to research generated by our universities as well as a vibrant technology sector are key drivers for entrepreneurial, high-growth companies."
"I chose Forsyth County because of the relationship I've developed with the Economic Development team and their willingness to support our growth initiatives as an early stage company," Lurie said.
