Tennis: West Hall boys hand North Hall first loss

GAINESVILLE -- West Hall won two of three singles matches to hand North Hall its first loss of the season, 3-2, in Region 7-AAA boys tennis action.

The Spartans' Max Wilson beat Jackson Davis 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and NHHS Austin Dyer beat Matt Booth 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. The No. 2 doubles team of Grayson Kyle and Conner Kirkland beat Dawson Smith and Paxton Gillespie 6-1, 6-2 to clinch the match.

For North Hall, Jeffery Kiser beat Tatum Scroggs 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and the No. 1 doubles team Drew Eidson and Lucas Martin beat Min Kim and Kip O'Kelley 6-4, 6-4 for its two wins.

West Hall improved to 10-4 overall, 4-1 in region play with the win. The Spartans will play host to Dawson County on Thursday.

North Hall fell to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in region play with the loss. The Trojans next will travel to Fannin County on Wednesday.
