Carson chosen as NGTC VPA

CLARKESVILLE - Carol Carson has been selected to take the position of North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) Vice President for Administrative (VPA) Services.

Carson has worked at the college for 13 years and has experience with budget planning and reporting, asset inventories, purchasing, payroll, revenue projections, data entry processes, audit procedures, PeopleSoft governmental accounting, and more.

"She has an impressive knowledge of the Technical College System of Georgia's systems and processes," said NGTC President Dr. Gail Thaxton. "Importantly, she recognizes the value of working beside each of us to ensure that we accomplish our goals and provide the best level of service possible to our students."

Prior to joining NGTC, Carson worked for Standard Telephone for 21 years. She attended Truett-McConnell College and holds a BS in Accounting from Brenau University. She also achieved her Governmental Accounting Certification from the Carl Vincent Institute at the University of Georgia.

"I am thrilled to have this opportunity," she said. "The folks here are wonderful, and I am proud to be a part of the good work this college has done and will continue to do for the community."

Carol is a native of Clarkesville and has a daughter, Caitlyn, who is currently enrolled at the University of Georgia.
