OAKWOOD -- The West Hall boys soccer team opened its Region 7-AAA home schedule with a solid 7-0 shutout win over Fannin County Friday night at West Hall Stadium.
The Spartans (7-0, 2-0 Region 7-AAA) got on the board quickly with a goal from Pedro Perez. Cesar Villa, on an assist from Omar Castillo, would give West Hall a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The Spartans exploded in the second half. Villa scored his second goal of the game just 30 seconds into the second half on an assist from Edwin Mendieta and Sammy Coto made it 4-0 moments later.
The defense got into the act next with Eduardo Magana on a quick assist to Israel Guzman, who blasted the ball into the net. Midfielder Alejandro Zamora made it 6-0 on a goal from 18-yards out. Coto would close out the offensive onslaught with his second goal in the final minutes.
The Spartans next will travel to Forsyth Central on Tuesday in a non-region match.
