Hall marketing students advance to international competition

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - Chestatee, East Hall, Flowery Branch, Lanier Charter Career Academy (LCCA), and North Hall Marketing students and DECA members recently won the right to compete at the international level in the organization's competitive events program.

DECA's industry validated competitive events are aligned with National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. Competition begins at the local level and advances to regional, state, and international level events. Students have the opportunity to compete in several types of competitions including written events, interviews, role-plays, case studies, as well as individual and team presentations.

State Competition was held this year in conjunction with the DECA State Career Development Conference February 28-March 2 at the Sheraton Hotel in Atlanta. Events were held over a two-day period.
