GAINESVILLE - A 29-year veteran of Hall County Fire Services has been terminated following a domestic incident earlier this month, according to a statement from Hall County officials.
David McGehee, 49, was serving as a Battalion Chief at the time of his dismissal on Monday, February 18.
A police report indicated that Hall County Sheriff's deputies responded to McGehee's residence on Dunagan Road on Feb. 7 in response to a 911 call made by McGehee's stepson. The stepson reported an altercation between McGehee, another stepson and McGehee's wife. Authorities said alcohol appeared to be a factor in the incident.
After his arrest, McGehee was charged with two counts of simple battery and one count of disorderly conduct and obstruction of an officer.
