GAINESVILLE -- The North Hall boys tennis team knocked off rival Chestatee 4-1 Tuesday in their season opener.<br />

The Trojans (1-0) swept the singles and split the doubles to get the win.<br />

In singles, Jeffery Kiser won at No. 1 singles 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 over Chestatee's Jonathan Cook. Jackson Davis beat Jeremiah Reed 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 and Dalton Patterson rallied to win a thrilling match over Teddy Werner 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 [11-9].<br />

In doubles, North Hall's No. 1 team of Paxton Gillespie and Dawson Smith fell to Chestatee's Juan Carrion and Blaine Brown 6-1, 6-0 while the No. 2 team of Lucas Martin and Matthew Chewning beat Reed Johnson and Casey Atkins 6-4, 6-2.<br />

North Hall will travel to Lumpkin on Thursday.
