Boys basketball: Lakeview knocks off Chestatee

COMMERCE -- Lakeview Academy used a big second quarter to grab the lead and then held on for a 84-76 win over Chestatee Monday in the East Jackson Classic.

The Lions (7-4) outscored the War Eagles 31-21 to take a 47-37 halftime lead. Chestatee trimmed the lead to 63-57 after the third quarter but could get no closer.

Tae Turner paced Lakeview Academy with 26 points. JB Britte added 21 points for the Lions.

Jordan Pulliam had a game-high 32 points to lead Chestatee. Jordan Stubblefield had 14 points and Joey Scheman 10 points for the War Eagles.

Lakeview Academy will be back in action on Friday in a Region 8-A contest against Pinecrest Academy at home.
