Demorest hosts annual tree lighting program Wednesday

DEMOREST - Demorest Mayor Malcolm Hunnicutt and local churches will host the annual tree lighting program in downtown Demorest Wednesday evening.<br /> <br /> The 6:00 program features choirs from the Demorest Baptist Church and the Demorest Church of God. The Christmas story will be told by Rev. Joyce Acree of Demorest Federated Church.<br /> <br /> Santa will arrive on the Georgia Street scene atop a city fire truck. There will be hot chocolate and cookies for all upon his his arrival.
