Atlanta airport expects rise in Thanksgiving travel

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA (AP) Atlanta's airport is expecting an increase in travel during the coming Thanksgiving week.

Officials with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport say they're anticipating a 3.3 percent jump in Thanksgiving travelers this year compared to 2012.

About 1.8 million passengers are expected to use the airport between Monday and Dec. 2.

Airport general manager Louis Miller says extra workers will be on duty to assist travelers.

Hartsfield-Jackson is the world's busiest airport with more than 95 million passengers each year.
