PEACHTREE CITY - North Georgians are being told to brace for the season's second "big chill."
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Peachtree City says a strong cold front will move through North Georgia Friday night and Saturday, bringing with it heavy rains but no severe weather. Forecasters say the season's second blast of Arctic air will linger through Sunday, with windy conditions and highs only in the 30s in the mountains and in the 40s elsewhere across the region. Lows will be in the teens and mid-20s.
The heaviest rain is expected along and north of a line from near Carrollton to Marietta to Toccoa.
The first "deep freeze" of the season hit North Georgia two weeks ago.
