ATHENS -- Georgia tight end Arthur Lynch is expected to miss Saturday's game against Appalachian State with bruised ribs.
Coach Mark Richt said Wednesday Lynch was hurt while making a catch in Saturday's 23-20 win over Florida. Lynch, a senior, has 15 catches for 243 yards and two touchdowns.
Richt said on the weekly Southeastern Conference coaches teleconference Lynch is "questionable at best" for the game.
Sophomore Jay Rome is expected to make his first start of the season. Rome has six catches for 75 yards. He started one game as a freshman in 2012, when he had 11 catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns.
