MACON, Ga. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a former Baldwin State Prison inmate has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for threatening to kill the president.
The Telegraph newspaper in Macon reports (http://bit.ly/1bDkO4h ) 37-year-old Richard Jeremy Ware wrote a letter in November 2011 threatening to kill President Barack Obama and the first lady. He also threatened to kidnap and molest the Obamas' daughters.
Ware pleaded guilty in April to one count of threatening the president and was sentenced Wednesday.
The indictment says Ware also threatened to kill Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, as well as George Bush.
Prison records show Ware was in Central State Prison in Macon at the time serving a sentence for making terroristic threats in Whitfield County in 2009. He has been in federal custody since March.
