LAGRANGE, Ga. (AP) -- Six children have been hospitalized after an inflatable slide collapsed at their Georgia elementary school.
Troup County Sheriff's Deputy Stewart Smith says the extent of their injuries is not known. Thirteen other students were also injured in the Thursday afternoon incident at Rosemont Elementary School in LaGrange. Smith says they were treated at the scene and released to their parents.
Smith says two children were airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Eggleston. Four others were taken by ambulance to West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Smith says the slide was located in the gym and was part of a reward for students. A call to the school was not immediately returned.
