Softball: Buford closes out perfect regular season in 7-AAA

GAINESVILLE - Class AAA No. 1-ranked Buford closed out its Region 7-AAA schedule Thursday with a 10-2 win in six innings over North Hall.

The Lady Wolves finished unbeaten in region play and will take the No. 1 seed into the upcoming Region 7-AAA Tournament.

Buford pounded out 12 hits and junior Emily Crocker earned the win for the Wolves, pitching the first three innings and facing the minimum number of batters allowing just one hit and striking out four. Buford sophomores Kennedy Kotula and Peyton Wolfe came in to pitch the final three innings.

The Lady Wolves led 3-0 in the fourth before North Hall pulled to within 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth. Buford would extend its lead to 7-2 in the fifth and added three more runs in the sixth.

Morgan Walters hit a solo home run in the second for Buford and Remington Hasty added a two-run shot in the fifth.
