Yonah Mtn. Vineyards shine in Calif. wine competition

SAN FRANCISCO - For the second year in a row, Yonah Mountain Vineyards brings home the Gold from the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition (SFCWC).

With two Gold, one Silver and three Bronze medals, Yonah Mountain Vineyards, which is based in Sautee Nacoochee in White County, has garnered more gold medals than any winery east of California in a two-year period.

Wines recognized at the 2013 competition are:

Gold - Bordeaux Blends - $30.00 to $39.99 - Yonah Mountain Vineyards Genesis 3
Silver - White Hybrid - Serenity Cellars 2011 Traminette
Bronze - Cabernet Sauvignon - $40.00 to $49.99 - Yonah Mountain Vineyards 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon
Bronze - Sauvignon Blanc or Fume - $20.00 & Over - Yonah Mountain Vineyards 2011 Sauvignon Blanc
Bronze - Italian Blends - $25.00 & Over - Serenity Cellars 2010 Harmony

The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition is known as the "Super Bowl" of wine competitions. It is considered the most prestigious in the American wine industry and the largest competition of American wines in the world.
