CUMMING - A Cumming man is in critical condition after being shot several times in a Forsyth County mobile home park.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, authorities responded to a call in the Twin Lakes Mobile Home Park near Georgia Highway 9 at approximately 12:30 this morning. Shortly after their arrival, officers heard a woman screaming and, upon following the sound of the screams, discovered a 28-year-old white male with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the ground between two mobile homes.
Deputies on the scene tended to the victims' wounds until further assistance arrived, at which time the victim was transported to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell. He is expected to undergo surgery today.
Subsequent on-scene investigations revealed that a resident of the mobile home park, a 26-year-old male, was responsible for the shooting. He was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault. The suspect is currently being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division is in charge of the ongoing investigation.
