Georgia Southern runs over Jacksonville

By The Associated Press
STATESBORO -- Georgia Southern sophomores Ezayi Youyoute and Dominique Swope each ran for three touchdowns and more than 100 yards as the Eagles piled up 557 rushing yards and crushed Jacksonville 58-0 in the teams' opener Saturday night.

Youyoute, who split time at quarterback with junior Jerick McKinnon, finished with 164 yards on 11 carries. His 79-yarder for the Eagles' first score was the second longest of his career.

Swope had 104 yards on 13 carries and McKinnon carried 11 times for 71 yards and a touchdown as Georgia Southern amassed its seventh-highest rushing total ever. The Eagles did not complete any of their eight passes.

Georgia Southern, which reached the Football Championship Subdivision semifinals last season, led 27-0 after one quarter, their most first-quarter points since a 38-35 win over Appalachian State in 2007.

The Dolphins were held to 178 total yards and 11 first downs.
